Tuesday marks the 89th anniversary of the historic July 7 Incident, or Lugou Bridge Incident. On July 7, 1937, Japanese troops attacked the Chinese garrison at Lugou Bridge, also known as Marco Polo Bridge, outside Wanping Town in what is now Fengtai District of Beijing.
